Studio Guidelines

Within the studio we do have some simple studio rules to ensure that all students are safe and feel comfortable in their environment. It is important that teachers, parents, and students are aware of these rules to ensure that studio expectations are met.

1. FOOD & DRINK

Food and Drink should not be consumed under any circumstances in the dance rooms (unless drinking water). When students are taking part in multiple    classes, teachers will allocate time for students to eat a snack, have a break and take a drink. Water can be taken in the dance room as long as it is in a secure, non-spill bottle and clearly marked with the student’s name.

2. ARRIVING AT THE STUDIO

We do ask that students are dropped off at the studio 5 minutes prior to their class starting, this ensures that they have time to wind down and prepare for class without rushing. If a student is going to be late for class, please let us know by calling us as soon as possible as this allows the instructor to prepare for the interruption in his/her lesson plan.

3. PICKING UP STUDENTS FROM THE STUDIO

No student under the age of 16 will be allowed to leave without a parent/guardian present unless prior arrangements have been made. This ensures all students remain safe.

4. BE RESPECTFUL AT ALL TIMES

The studio has a strict no bullying policy and therefore if it is discovered that anyone is found to be making others feel uncomfortable or bad about themselves, the involved student may be at risk of losing their place in the studio.

5. UNIFORM

Ballet, Tap, & Jazz: DL branded leotard, tights, and shoes. Tumbling: DL branded T-shirt & leotard or shorts, no shoes. Hip-Hop: DL branded T-shirt & shorts/sweats. This includes no jewelry and hair tied up.

6. BEHAVIOUR WITHIN THE STUDIO

Students should always listen to direction while in the studio.  Students must not use bad language - Students must inform the instructor if they are feeling ill or injured - Cell phones must be switched off during class.
